2010 December, "Evolution, regulation and disruption of homeostasis and its role in carcinogenesis" by A. Anderson, D. Basanta, P. Gerlee and Kasia Rejniak published as Chapter 1 in T.S. Deisboeck, G. Stamatakos (Eds.), “Multiscale Cancer Modeling”, Chapman & Hall-CRC, 2010, “Mathematical and Computational Biology Series.”

2010 September 15th, Research Experiences at the Biology-Mathematics Interface (REMBI) conference, Claremont Colleges, Claremont, CA

Sara Dawit and Dandre Allison have presented a poster "Developing a 3D integrative model to enhance T cell anti-melanoma activity", the result of their summer 2010 internship at Moffitt-IMO, and work with Kasia Rejniak and Shari Pilon-Thomas.

2010 September 7-11, Mathematical Biosciences Institute, Ohio State University, Columbus, OH

The MBI bootcamp on Cancer Modeling has been co-organized by Drs. Helen Byrne, Mark Chapain, Reinhard Laubenbacher and Kasia Rejniak. The bootcamp was aimed to provide a tutorial, from both biological and mathematical perspecitives, and an overview of the current state-of-the-art in cancer modeling in radiotheraphy, signaling pathways and tumor development. The tumor development hands-on computational laboratory was also conducted by Kasia Rejniak.

2010 August, "Linking changes in epithelial morphogenesis to cancer mutations using computational modeling" by Rejniak et al. has been published in PLoS Computational Biology, open access

2010 July, NIH/NCI Moffitt PS-OC Pilot Grant Award for the proposal: "Forcing the way to metastasis: physical interactions between tumor cells and endothelial walls."

2010 June-July, Summer Research Interdisciplinary Training, Moffitt Cancer Center, Sara Dawit and Dandre Allison, participants of the Research Experience at the Biology-Mathematics Interface (REBMI) NSF-funded program at the Pomona and Scripps Colleges in Claremont, California

Project Summary: a cross-disciplinary summer research project involved 3D in vitro co-culture experiment of B16 melanoma cells and B16-specific pmel T cells, together with developing 3D computer simulations for testing tumor cells-T cells interactions.
