Clinical Cancer Research - Cycle 3

The purpose of the program is to advance studies that deliver results for cancer patients and empower individuals to develop their skills to make a difference for themselves and the greater community.  RTF supports truly innovative, unique, patient-centered research that has the potential to positively impact the lives of cancer patients in near future. Early stages clinical studies and translational research that can demonstrate the potential for quick and meaningful impact are funded. Basic research or phase III/IV trials are not supported.
Due Dates: Aug. 20 (Letter of Intent) - If the proposed project meets Rising Tide's funding criteria, an invitation will be extended for submission of a full grant application for further consideration.

Clinical Consortium Award

This award mechanism provides the support to develop and enhance collaborations and resources necessary for a network of organizations to rapidly execute Phase II or Phase II-linked Phase I (Phase I/II) prostate cancer clinical trials, including investigations of high-impact, novel therapeutic agents or approaches for the management or treatment of prostate cancer. In accordance with PCRP goals, the conduct of Phase I/II trials incorporating investigations of biomarkers for risk assessment, early detection, prediction of aggressiveness, and/or progression of prostate cancer is particularly encouraged.  Support from this award is directed toward consortium infrastructure needs rather than direct support of the research itself.

This award is a funding program from the Hope Foundation that encourages novel and innovative SWOG research by supporting early and conceptual stages of such projects. Assay development and screening for discovery of chemical probes or therapeutic agents

The purpose is to stimulate research in discovery and development of novel, small molecules for their potential use in studying disease treatment; and to generate new insight into the biology of relevant diseases and processes that have yet to be validated as important drug targets. Stages of discovery research covered by this FOA include: 1) assay development; 2) primary screen implementation to identify initial screening hits (high throughput target-focused screens, or moderate throughput screens); 3) hit validation using a series of assays and initial medicinal chemistry inspection to prioritize the hit set.

Clinical Investigator Career Development Award (CDA)

This program is designed to support physician investigators at the level of advanced fellow or junior faculty member who will contribute to the development of new lymphoma therapies and diagnostic tools.
Amount & Project Period: $225,000 over 3  years
Eligibility: Must have no greater than five years of experience beyond completion of their fellowship or postdoctoral training (the five year limit may be non-sequential in cases of pregnancy or illness).

Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant

This award is designed to support investigators at the level of advanced fellow or postdoctoral researcher in laboratory or clinic based research with results and conclusions that must be clearly relevant to the treatment, diagnosis or prevention of Hodgkin and/or non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Areas of research may include, but are not limited to, etiology, immunology, genetics, therapies and transplantation.

Eligibility: Must hold an MD, PhD, or equiv. degree.
MD Applicants must have completed at least two years (24 months) fellowship work at start of award period (March 1, 2018).

Lymphoma Clinical Research Mentoring Program (LCRMP)

The LCRMP is an education and mentoring program for fellows and junior faculty with a focus in clinical research in the field of non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin lymphoma.
Amount & Project Period: $5,000/yr. - 2 years
Eligibility: Applicant must be a junior faculty member in first four years of a faculty position or trainees at least in the second year of one of the following ACGME accredited sub-specialty fellowship programs: Hematology/Oncology, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, or Hematopathology.
Applicants should not be more than four years beyond completion of fellowship or more than twelve years beyond completion of their MD or equivalent degree.
Studies or proposals that are exclusively laboratory based are not appropriate for the LRF LCRMP.  Proposals must involve clinical observation of human subjects and may include study or development of new diagnostic methods, therapies, and/or outcome measurements directed to patients with lymphoma are required.

Research Grants

Supports research focusing on rapid discovery and development of therapies or strategies that treat, control, or cure Fanconi anemia.   There is particular interest in supporting interdisciplinary and translational research efforts including:
- Understanding how alteration of the Fanconi anemia genes and their products lead to the clinical manifestations of Fanconi anemia.
