Government Shutdown Impact on Moffitt Grant Applications
With the federal government shutdown in full effect and no indication of when normal operations will resume, NIH and other
agencies who receive electronic applications through Grants.gov are strongly encouraging applicants NOT to submit applications
at this time. Grants.gov remains open and can accept applications, but the eRA Commons is not online, so applications submitted
now will sit in a queue awaiting processing through the Commons once the government resumes. NIH ensures applicants that all applications submitted within the 2 business days before or during the shutdown will receive the full viewing window once the Commons is back online, but strongly encourages applicants to wait until normal governmental operations resume.
An NIH Guide detailing adjusted submission dates will be posted after the shutdown ends. Moffitt will follow NIH's recommendations, so OSR will not submit any more NIH applications via Grants.gov until the shutdown ends.
Since we don't have any way to know when the shutdown will end or how quickly NIH will require applications be submitted, OSR must receive grant submissions by the due date.
This will allow them to review them before they are
submitted as they always do. Once we have indications
that NIH is fully ready to receive applications again,
we will begin submitting them in the order that OSR
received them according to due date. OSR is closely
monitoring NIH's communication; the latest notification
has been attached for your convenience.
Please contact your Research Administrator if you have further questions or concerns. Information on how the government shutdown is impacting other areas can be found in today's What's Happening at Moffitt story.
Government Shutdown - No Impact on CDMRP Submission Deadlines
The current government shutdown is not impacting the CDMRP eReceipt System nor the Grants.gov application receipt portal. All CDMRP pre-application and application submission deadlines remain as specified in the Program Announcements. The CDMRP Helpdesk (help@cdmrp.org) and the Grants.gov Contact Center (support@grants.gov) remain open.
