Dr. Schabath is a lung cancer epidemiologist who is interested in translational and integrative epidemiology research to identify genetic markers that are associated treatment-response and lung cancer survival.

The overachieving goal of this research is to use individualized gene-based medicine - also known as "personalized medicine" - as a tool for physicians to predict which treatment options will work best for each lung cancer patient based on their genetic footprint.
