NCCN Afatinib Combination Research Grant Opportunity

To support NCCN investigator initiated studies for the performance of preclinical, clinical, and correlative studies of afatinib containing combinations in the treatment of lung and head and neck cancers.   The motivation behind this RFP is to facilitate development of combination therapies using afatinib.  Towards this goal, several specific additional therapies may be available from collaborating pharmaceutical companies, and are detailed in the RFP, though investigations addressing any combination regimens will be considered.

Collaborative Activities to Promote Metabolomics Research

Supports supplemental funding to current NIH-funded research projects for new interactive collaborations between basic or clinical researchers and metabolomics experts to add a metabolomics approach to the existing Research Strategy of the project.

Amount & Project Period: $100,000 (Direct Costs) -  Maximum of 12 months' funding;
must commence in fiscal year 2016.
Eligibility: Collaborations must be composed of at least one biomedical research investigator and at least one investigator with documented experience in comprehensive metabolomics analyses.
Parent awards must be funded through June 30, 2017, exclusive of any no cost extension.
Only one application per parent award is allowed.

February 18 (LOI) All Ranks Federal Physical Activity Omics

Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Genomics, Epigenomics, and Transcriptomics Chemical Analysis Sites

Awards will support establishment of sites that will use appropriate technology to conduct genomics, epigenomics, and transcriptomics analysis of tissues collected from human participants and animals undergoing a physical activity intervention, contribute that data to a public consortium database, and participate in initial statistical analysis to generate fingerprints of candidate molecular transducers of physical activity.
